AFEXPO once again has the honor, as in 2014, of hosting the General Assembly of the European Spice Association, from Wednesday, May 29 to Friday, May 31, 2024, which will take place in the city of Murcia.
Murcia, thanks to its location in the South East of the Iberian Peninsula, close to the Mediterranean Sea, enjoys more than 3,000 hours of sun annually and mild temperatures. The average annual temperatures stay around 18 º C, which makes it an ideal holiday destination at any time of the year.
The current Murcia has inherited a splendid millenary past. Streets, monuments, the Cathedral, buildings, the river are lasting part of a city that has experienced an amazing growth in the last years.
Walking through its streets you can still see the old medieval urban structure of Andalucian era, that in the past divided religions and now they have become beautiful pedestrian streets, home to a major retailer commercial sector and traditional shops.
Without a doubt Murcia’s food is one of the most attractive points for tourists. The Murcians have successfully made the most of all they have on offer, keeping the healthy traditions of the Mediterranean diet and adding imagination, creativity and skill. In Murcia the “tapeo” is an art. There is a considerable variety of “tapas”, hot or cold, with different origins, from the most ancestral stews to the nouvelle cuisine which can be enjoyed everywhere.
Murcia is known by the nickname of the “Garden of Europe”, thanks to its famous and fertile lands, highlights for its agro-food industry, among others.
Modern, accessible, well connected by two international airports, an extensive road network and modern hotel facilities, make it one of the best cities to celebrate important meetings and conferences.

Please note that access to the ESA GA (Part 1 and Part 2) scheduled for the morning of Thursday, 30th May, is only permitted for direct members of the ESA. Members of National Associations of Species linked to ESA may access the conference room during the ESA GA (Part 1 and Part 2) as observers, without a voice or vote in the assembly. Non-members of ESA will not have access to the conference room during the ESA GA (Part 1 and Part 2).

Accommodation and transfer services
AFEXPO, through the Travel Agency, makes accommodation available to delegates and accompanying persons in the city of Murcia during the celebration of the General Assembly ESA 2024 and transfer services from airports.
To avail the offered accommodation rates, bookings must be made before the 28th of April. Accommodation reservations made after the 28th of April will be subject to availability.

Accommodation Cancellations
- This stay is refundable if you cancel your reservations before April 28. Cancellations must be communicated to the Travel Agency, to the email jesus@viajesdiana.com
- Cancellations made from 29th April onwards will incur charges.
- In case of No Show, the full amount of your reservations will be charged.
Cancellations of airport transfer services
Please, if there is a change in the delegate’s itinerary or a cancellation, you must notify the Travel Agency before May 23 to inform the transport company.
Failure to cancel services before the date indicated by email will result in full payment of the airport transfer reservation.

Important dates
1st April → Reduced registration deadline.
28th April → Registration deadline.
28th April → Deadline for guaranteed hotel accommodation reservations. From this date onwards, reservations will be subject to availability.
10th May → Cancellation of registration before 10th May incurs an administrative fee of 25%. Registrations cancelled after 10th May will not be refunded.
20th May → Deadline for change of ownership registrations.
23rd May → Deadline for changing itineraries or cancelling transfer services.
29th, 30th, and 31st May → ESA General Assembly.
